Alfa Romeo

The winner of the 2006 Rolex Maxi World Championship in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, Alfa Romeo 2 was the world's first CBTF supermaxi. While she was the tenth carbon fibre racing yacht built by McConaghy Boats her construction was by far the largest and most complex ever undertaken as the anticipated loads exerted on the structure when the yacht was under sail were unprecedented. She was a quantum leap in the high-technology world of modern ocean racing yachts.
